Film Internal Antistatic Slow-Release Powder Ethoxylated Alkylamine Solid, Slow Migration Long-Lasting for PE PP Thin-Gauge Film

This film internal antistatic slow‑release powder is a solid ethoxylated alkylamine‑based antistatic additive developed specifically for PE and PP thin‑gauge film. Unlike fast‑migration antistatic agents that produce early heavy blooming on thin‑gauge film shortly after winding, this powder is formulated for moderate, slow migration. After blown‑film or cast‑film extrusion, active ingredients gradually travel to the film surface to form a thin continuous hydrophilic conductive layer. It delivers

Product DetailsThis ethoxylated alkylamine solid powder is an amphiphilic non‑ionic surfactant. The hydrophobic long alkyl chain provides affinity with non‑polar PE and PP resin matrix, while the hydrophilic ethoxylated segments are responsible for static dissipation. The specially adjusted molecular structure and crystal state slow down diffusion speed inside the solidified polyolefin. The powder can be directly premixed with polyolefin resin pellets or compounded into antistatic masterbatch prior to blown‑film and cast‑film extrusion.

During high‑temperature melt extrusion, the antistatic powder melts completely and disperses uniformly within the molten PE or PP. After the thin‑gauge film is cooled, solidified and wound into rolls, the active antistatic molecules begin to migrate outwards at a restrained slow rate toward the film surface. The hydrophilic ethoxylated groups orient outwards and capture trace ambient moisture, building a thin hydrophilic conductive skin for static charge dissipation. The slow‑release migration profile delays surface enrichment, effectively avoiding early‑stage heavy blooming which commonly causes slippery surfaces and reel blocking for thin‑gauge film. The antistatic protection can be maintained for a longer service period during storage and converting.

As a migratory non‑ionic antistatic additive, its antistatic efficacy remains humidity‑dependent. Under extremely low‑humidity workshop or service environments, static‑dissipating capacity will decrease. Although the product adopts slow‑migration formulation, excessive dosage will still lead to cumulative surface blooming over long‑term storage, resulting in slippery film surfaces, reel blocking and reduced ink adhesion during printing. Insufficient dosage cannot establish effective surface conductivity to control static and dust adsorption.

Thermal stability should be closely monitored during thin‑gauge film extrusion. Excessively high barrel temperature or prolonged melt residence time inside the extruder will cause thermal decomposition of ethoxylated alkylamine, generating volatile fumes, forming die deposits and creating tiny film streaks or fisheye defects, meanwhile weakening long‑term antistatic performance.

Recommended dosage ranges from 0.4 wt%‑1.5 wt% based on total PE or PP resin weight. Pre‑production laboratory evaluation must cover powder mixing uniformity, thermal stability during extrusion, migration ageing test, surface resistivity evolution, anti‑blocking property of wound thin‑gauge film, as well as printing ink adhesion performance.

Store the film internal antistatic slow‑release powder in sealed moisture‑proof bags inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Prevent moisture‑induced caking of fine powder. Avoid prolonged high‑temperature storage. Reseal packaging immediately after opening to maintain original powder state and consistent processing behaviour for thin‑gauge film production.
