Polyether Block Amide (PEBA) is a macromolecular permanent antistatic agent for polyolefin electronic packaging film. Different from small‑molecule migratory antistatic surfactants that rely on surface moisture for conductivity, this block copolymer forms continuous intrinsic conductive micro‑networks inside the resin matrix. It delivers stable antistatic performance even under low‑humidity operating environments. The product features excellent compatibility with polyolefin resins and retains sa
Product DetailsPEBA polymeric antistatic agent consists of rigid polyamide hard segments and hydrophilic flexible polyether soft segments. During twin‑screw compounding, PEBA pellets are dispersed into polyolefin resin to produce antistatic masterbatch. When the masterbatch is further diluted and processed into blown or cast film, dispersed PEBA domains interconnect to construct continuous internal conductive pathways within the polyolefin film matrix.
Static charges can dissipate through these embedded conductive networks, so antistatic performance does not heavily depend on ambient humidity. It maintains consistent static‑dissipating property under dry conditions, which is critical for electronic component packaging in low‑humidity workshop environments. Compared with carbon black or carbon‑fiber‑based conductive modifiers that darken finished articles, this PEBA grade preserves high film transparency, enabling visual inspection of packed electronic parts.
It is primarily applied for electronic‑grade polyolefin blown film, cast film and multilayer co‑extruded packaging film. The standard processing route is masterbatch production first, followed by blending with neat polyolefin pellets during film extrusion. Processing temperature and screw shear should be strictly controlled in twin‑screw extrusion; excessive thermal exposure may trigger thermal‑oxidative degradation of polyether segments and degrade antistatic performance.
The recommended final loading dosage in finished polyolefin film ranges from 7 wt%‑16 wt%. The exact addition level is adjusted according to target surface and volume resistivity specifications. Before mass film production, laboratory trials must be performed to evaluate melt flow behaviour, film transparency, haze value, surface resistivity, mechanical tensile properties and long‑term ageing stability.
Store pellet‑shaped PEBA antistatic material inside sealed, moisture‑proof packaging in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Prevent moisture absorption prior to extrusion compounding. Avoid direct sunlight and long‑term high‑temperature storage. Reseal the packaging immediately after opening to restrict moisture uptake.
