EBS Wax (Ethylene Bis‑Stearamide) CAS 110‑30‑5 is a high‑melting synthetic fatty acid bis‑amide wax. It provides both internal and external lubricating as well as mold‑releasing properties. Inside polymer matrix, the internal‑lubricating segment reduces intermolecular friction of molten resin. The external lubricating fraction migrates toward metal contact surfaces to form a slippery boundary film. In color masterbatch production, EBS Wax delivers excellent pigment wetting and dispersion capacit
Product Detail Page: EBS Wax is synthesized via amidation reaction between ethylenediamine and stearic acid. The crude product goes through purification, cooling, milling and sieving to obtain fine powder or granular wax. Each production batch is strictly tested for melting point, amine value, acid value, thermal stability and pigment‑dispersion performance, ensuring consistent quality for plastic, rubber and masterbatch manufacturing.
Plastic, rubber and color masterbatch production faces typical processing challenges. In color masterbatch compounding, untreated pigment particles tend to aggregate. Poor pigment dispersion causes speckles and color‑streak defects on final molded products. For thermoplastic extrusion and injection molding, insufficient internal lubrication increases melt viscosity and extruder torque. Without proper external lubrication, molten polymer or rubber compound sticks to screw, barrel and mold surfaces. Long‑time continuous processing generates plate‑out deposits, which force frequent machine shutdown for cleaning. Many single‑function waxes cannot simultaneously satisfy dispersion, lubrication and release requirements for masterbatch, plastic and rubber.
When dry‑blended or melt‑mixed into formulations at recommended dosage, EBS Wax disperses uniformly within resin, rubber or pigment‑rich masterbatch systems. During thermal plasticization, the internal lubricating effect reduces intermolecular friction of molten polymer, lowering shear heat and processing torque. Meanwhile, part of EBS gradually migrates to the interface between hot melt and metallic equipment surfaces, forming a continuous low‑friction boundary layer. This boundary film decreases resin‑metal adhesion, improves demolding performance for molded plastic and rubber parts and restricts plate‑out accumulation on dies and molds. For color masterbatch manufacturing, EBS Wax effectively wets pigment particle surfaces, breaks up pigment agglomerates and realizes homogeneous pigment distribution throughout the carrier resin.
Precise dosage control is critical in formulation design. Under‑dosage results in inadequate pigment wetting, insufficient lubrication and mold‑sticking problems. Excessive EBS loading may lead to surface blooming of finished plastic and rubber products and reduce the mechanical properties of final articles. Preliminary laboratory trials are strongly recommended before mass compounding. EBS Wax can work synergistically with thermal stabilizers, mineral fillers and other processing waxes in plastic and rubber formulations.
For compounding operation, EBS wax powder or granules are added during high‑speed mixing together with resin, rubber base, pigment and fillers prior to extrusion pelletizing.
Keep EBS Wax sealed and protected from moisture. High‑humidity storage may cause minor caking of the fine powder.
Major application fields: lubricant and release agent for general‑purpose and engineering plastics; processing aid and pigment dispersing wax for various color masterbatches; internal‑external lubricating auxiliary for vulcanized rubber compounds.
Store the product in tightly‑sealed original bags within 15‑30℃, maintain dry storage and avoid direct sunlight.
