EBO Wax (Ethylene Bis-Oleamide) CAS 102-03-4, Transparent Slip Anti-Blocking Release for PVC Polyolefin TPU Film

EBO Wax (Ethylene Bis‑Oleamide) CAS 102‑03‑4 is unsaturated fatty‑acid bis‑amide synthetic wax. It features moderate melting point and favorable migration behaviour in polymer matrix without severe haze‑inducing effect. As a multifunctional processing additive, it offers internal lubrication during melt plasticization, while controlled gradual surface migration delivers slip and anti‑blocking performance for finished thin‑gauge films. It also provides mold‑release effect for injection‑molded the

Product Detail Page: EBO Wax is synthesized through amidation reaction between ethylenediamine and oleic acid. The crude product goes through purification, cooling, flaking and fine milling. Each production batch is tested for melting point, acid value, amine value, thermal stability, migration property and film anti‑blocking performance, to guarantee consistent quality for blown‑film, cast‑film and thermoplastic processing.

Transparent thin‑gauge film production of PVC, polyolefin and TPU faces persistent processing challenges. After film extrusion and cooling, tight winding makes adjacent film layers easily stick together, which is known as blocking defect. Severe blocking causes unwinding difficulties during subsequent converting operations. Many common slip additives tend to migrate excessively and form heavy blooming on film surfaces, resulting in loss of transparency and hazy appearance. If internal lubrication is insufficient, melt viscosity rises, extrusion torque increases and surface streaks appear on the finished film. Without moderate releasing performance, thermoplastic resin may adhere to mold surfaces during incidental injection molding of TPU and PVC components.

When homogeneously premixed into the polymer formulation at recommended dosage, fine EBO wax particles disperse uniformly within the resin matrix. During thermal plasticization, the internal‑lubricating fraction reduces intermolecular friction of molten resin, lowering shear friction and stabilizing extrusion torque for film processing. After the hot film exits the die and cools down, the EBO component slowly migrates toward the film surface. A very thin slippery molecular layer is formed on the film surface. This thin surface layer provides effective slip and anti‑blocking performance, preventing adjacent film layers from sticking after roll winding. Meanwhile, moderate migration speed avoids heavy blooming, so the finished transparent PVC, polyolefin and TPU film can maintain good optical clarity. For injection‑molded TPU and PVC parts, EBO also delivers auxiliary mold‑release effect to reduce resin‑metal adhesion.

Precise dosage control is highly significant for film formulations. Under‑dosage cannot build sufficient slippery surface layer; anti‑blocking and slip effects are inadequate, and film blocking defects remain. Excessive addition leads to over‑migration and heavy surface blooming, which destroys film transparency, may cause printing or lamination failure on the film surface. Laboratory extrusion film trials are strongly recommended prior to mass production. EBO wax can be used in combination with thermal stabilizers, antioxidants and anti‑static agents for flexible film systems.

For compounding operations, EBO wax powder or flakes are added during high‑speed mixing with base resin before pelletizing or direct blown‑film extrusion.

The wax should be stored in sealed packaging to avoid moisture absorption, which may cause minor caking of fine powder.

Major application fields: slip and anti‑blocking processing aid for transparent PVC flexible film; winding anti‑blocking additive for polyolefin blown and cast film; lubricant and auxiliary release agent for TPU film and injection‑molded TPU articles.

Store the product in tightly‑sealed original bags within 15‑30℃, keep dry and avoid direct sunlight.
