Metal Release Processing Aid Acrylic Modified Polymer, Reduce Resin-Metal Friction Improve Demolding for PVC

This acrylic modified polymer metal release processing aid is solid powdered polymeric additive specially developed for PVC processing. Under thermal and shear conditions during plasticizing, the functional polymer gradually migrates to the interface of molten PVC and metal surfaces of barrel, screw, die and mold. It forms a continuous low‑friction protective boundary film. This boundary layer lowers resin‑metal friction, effectively improves demolding behavior of hot PVC melt, restrains plate‑o

Product Detail Page: The acrylic modified polymer metal release processing aid is manufactured through modified solution polymerization followed by spray‑drying and fine milling procedures. Sieving steps remove oversized agglomerated particles. Each production batch is tested for particle size, thermal decomposition temperature, migration property and actual processing performance, ensuring adequate thermal stability under PVC processing temperatures and consistent interfacial lubricating efficiency.

During extrusion and injection molding of rigid and semi‑rigid PVC, hot molten resin keeps in persistent sliding contact with metallic surfaces of processing equipment. Strong resin‑metal friction will elevate extrusion torque. High friction also makes the molten PVC tend to adhere to die lips and mold cavities. After prolonged continuous production, degraded resin fragments accumulate to form plate‑out deposits. These deposits cause surface streaks, scratches and dark spots on finished PVC products. Frequent production shutdowns are required to clean dies and molds, which severely cuts overall production capacity. Traditional low‑molecular‑weight release lubricants have limited high‑temperature resistance and are easy to volatilize, generating smoke during processing.

When homogeneously dry‑blended into PVC formulation at recommended dosage, the fine‑powdered acrylic modified polymer disperses evenly within resin matrix. Subjected to processing heat and mechanical shear, the modified polymeric component slowly migrates toward the metal‑melt contact interface. A tough, low‑friction boundary film is generated on metal surfaces. The film reduces direct friction between hot molten PVC and metal equipment, lowers running torque, and significantly improves demolding performance when parts are ejected from injection molds. Meanwhile, the formation of this protective interfacial layer inhibits the build‑up of plate‑out residues on die lips and mold cavities. It supports longer continuous production cycles and delivers cleaner, smoother surface finish on finished PVC profiles, pipes and injection‑molded fittings.

Precise dosage management is essential. Insufficient dosage cannot build a complete interfacial protective film; resin‑metal friction and plate‑out issues remain unsolved. Excessive addition will weaken melt cohesion and melt strength of PVC, may cause screw slippage inside the extruder, and exert negative influence on final mechanical properties of PVC articles. Laboratory formulation trials are strongly advised before mass compounding to confirm optimal loading according to specific PVC grade, equipment configuration and processing temperature settings. This processing aid can be combined with PVC thermal stabilizers, internal lubricants and mineral fillers.

For compounding operations, weigh this powder additive and fully mix with PVC resin, stabilizers and other auxiliaries in high‑speed mixer to obtain homogeneous dry‑blend prior to extrusion or injection molding.

Store the powdered product in dry environment, avoid moisture absorption which may trigger powder caking, and keep away from foreign contaminants.

Major application fields: metal release processing aid for rigid PVC pipe and profile extrusion; demolding‑improving additive for PVC injection‑molded fittings; anti‑plate‑out polymeric auxiliary for semi‑rigid PVC sheet production.

Store the product in tightly‑sealed original bags within 15‑30℃, maintain dry storage and avoid direct sunlight.
