Pentaerythritol Stearate (PETS) CAS 115-83-3, High-Temperature Internal External Release for PC PA PBT PET ABS 365℃

Pentaerythritol Stearate (PETS) CAS 115‑83‑3 is a saturated polyol ester lubricant produced from pentaerythritol and long‑chain stearic acid. It provides combined internal‑external lubricating and releasing performance for high‑heat engineering plastic systems. At extreme processing temperature up to 365℃, it exhibits excellent thermal stability with low volatility. The internal lubricating function decreases intermolecular friction within polymer melt, while the external releasing effect forms

Product Detail Page: Pentaerythritol Stearate (PETS) is manufactured via esterification reaction of pentaerythritol and stearic acid under controlled catalytic conditions, followed by distillation purification, filtration, cooling and flaking or granulation. Finished batches are tested for melting point, acid value, saponification value, thermal weight‑loss property and high‑temperature lubricating performance to guarantee consistent quality for engineering‑plastic compounding.

High‑temperature processing of PC, PA, PBT, PET and ABS imposes rigorous thermal requirements on processing lubricants. Conventional low‑molecular‑weight lubricants tend to decompose and volatilize at temperatures above 280℃. Heavy fume generation, mold deposit formation and surface defects on finished plastic components frequently occur. Insufficient internal lubrication leads to excessive melt viscosity, sharply rising extruder torque and over‑shear degradation of polymer chains. Inadequate external releasing performance causes molten resin to stick to mold cavities, resulting in difficult demolding, part cracking and heavy plate‑out on die lips during continuous long‑run production.

When uniformly blended into engineering‑plastic compounds at the recommended dosage, PETS disperses thoroughly inside the resin matrix. Under high processing temperature and mechanical shear, the internal lubricating segment reduces intermolecular resistance of molten polymer, improving melt fluidity and decreasing shear‑induced heat build‑up. Meanwhile, part of PETS gradually migrates toward the metal‑melt interface to build a continuous slippery boundary film. This boundary layer reduces adhesion between hot polymer melt and metal surfaces of injection molds, extruder screws and dies. It effectively facilitates demolding of complex molded articles, restricts plate‑out accumulation on tooling surfaces and stabilizes processing torque during continuous production. Benefiting from outstanding thermal resistance, it maintains lubricating effectiveness even under short‑term peak processing temperature reaching 365℃.

Strict dosage control is essential for formulation work. Under‑dosage results in insufficient lubrication, high torque, sticking issues and poor surface gloss. Excessive addition will reduce melt strength of engineering plastics, induce mold blooming, and negatively impact mechanical and heat‑resistance properties of final molded parts. Preliminary laboratory compounding and injection trials are strongly recommended before mass production. PETS can be used together with antioxidants, heat stabilizers and mineral or glass‑fiber fillers for reinforced engineering‑plastic grades.

For compounding operations, add flaked or granular PETS during high‑speed mixing together with base resin, antioxidants and fillers to achieve homogeneous premix prior to extrusion pelletizing or direct injection molding.

Protect the product against moisture and foreign contamination. Long‑term storage under high ambient temperature may trigger slow ester aging and slight acid‑value increase, which impairs thermal‑lubricating performance.

Major application fields: high‑temperature internal‑external release lubricant for glass‑fiber reinforced PC, PA, PBT, PET; processing aid for unfilled and filled ABS injection molding; anti‑plate‑out auxiliary for engineering‑plastic extrusion compounding lines.

Store the product in tightly‑sealed original bags within 15‑30℃, keep dry and avoid direct sunlight.
