JSYA-PQ Polyquaternary Ammonium Biocide is a cationic polymeric quaternary ammonium compound (polyquat) designed for microbial control in circulating water and recirculating cooling water systems. As a non-oxidizing biocide, it carries positively charged quaternary ammonium groups along the polymer chain that strongly adsorb onto negatively charged bacterial cell walls, algae cells and fungal membranes. This adsorption changes membrane permeability, causes intracellular leakage and suppresses re
JSYA-PQ appears as a light yellow to amber water-soluble liquid polymer. It mixes freely with water and can be dosed directly into cooling tower basins, circulating water lines or process water systems through continuous feeding or periodic shock dosing. The polymeric backbone provides good penetration into accumulated slime and a moderate stripping effect on attached biofilm. It is typically used as part of a rotating biocide program alongside oxidizing agents such as chlorine or bromine, and may be combined with scale inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors under a compatible dosing sequence. Because it is cationic, dosing should be separated from anionic deposit control polymers to avoid electrostatic complexing and precipitation.
Main advantages:
Typical applications:
JSYA-PQ polyquaternary ammonium biocide provides a reliable cationic polymer option for circulating water treatment. It helps operators keep bacterial counts and algae growth under control, reduce slime fouling on heat exchange equipment and support stable, efficient operation of industrial water systems.
