This quaternary ammonium conductive promoter is a functional coating additive dedicated to powder electrostatic spray applications. It modifies the electrical resistance of powder coating particles, optimizes electrostatic charging performance during spraying, and raises powder transfer efficiency onto grounded metal substrates. The product suppresses common coating defects including back‑ionization, pinholes and orange‑skin caused by poor electrostatic charging. It shows favorable compatibility
Product DetailsThe quaternary ammonium conductive promoter acts as an internal conductive modifier inside powder coating formulations. During extrusion and premixing processing, it disperses uniformly within resin, curing agent and pigment‑filler matrix. By adjusting the surface resistivity of powder particles, it helps powder particles to hold stable electrostatic charge at the spraying gun, which strengthens particle attraction toward the grounded workpiece.
In traditional electrostatic powder spraying, excessive coating resistance frequently leads to insufficient particle charging, low deposition rate, heavy powder over‑spray loss, and back‑ionization on thick coated areas. This conductive promoter alleviates those technical problems. It enables higher transfer efficiency, reduces waste of powder raw materials and improves overall coating line productivity.
It is applicable for epoxy powder coatings, polyester‑epoxy hybrid powder coatings and pure polyester powder coating systems for metal substrate finishing. Under proper addition dosage, it will not trigger obvious discoloration, blooming or surface hazing on cured coating layer. It does not substantially interfere with cross‑linking curing reaction during oven baking.
Recommended dosage falls within 0.2 wt%‑1.8 wt% based on total powder formulation. Pre‑formulation lab trials are essential to test extrusion processing stability, powder storage anti‑caking property, electrostatic spraying performance, cured film gloss, impact resistance and anti‑yellowing baking resistance prior to mass production.
Store in sealed packaging inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from moisture, high temperature and direct sunlight. Prevent moisture absorption which may cause caking. Seal packages tightly once opened to avoid quality deterioration during storage.
