This solvent‑free quaternary ammonium‑blend antistatic additive is designed exclusively for two‑component epoxy and polyurethane floor and wood coating systems. It contains no volatile organic solvents and fits low‑VOC formulation requirements. The additive disperses uniformly inside resin matrix after mixing with base resin and hardener. It builds a micro‑conductive network within the cured coating film to lower surface resistivity, dissipate static charges and avoid dust attraction on finished
Product DetailsThe quaternary ammonium blend antistatic additive is a solvent‑free functional additive without diluting volatile carriers. It is suitable for high‑solid two‑component coating systems where solvent introduction must be restricted. When preparing coating batches, it should be incorporated into the base resin component before mixing with curing agent. High‑speed gentle stirring is required to achieve homogeneous dispersion; violent long‑time high‑shear agitation should be avoided to prevent potential local destabilization of the quaternary ammonium active substance.
After construction and full cross‑link curing, the additive forms evenly distributed micro‑conductive domains throughout the solid coating layer rather than concentrating only on the top surface. This internal conductive network delivers sustained antistatic performance instead of temporary surface‑only static dissipation. It mitigates common floor‑coating problems caused by static electricity, including dust adhesion on fresh flooring surfaces during commissioning and static discharge risks in workshop floors. For wood coating applications, it helps to reduce static‑induced dust pickup during finishing and subsequent usage of finished wooden components.
It is compatible with standard 2K epoxy amine hardeners as well as aliphatic and aromatic PU isocyanate hardeners. Excessive loading will negatively affect water resistance, solvent resistance and may induce slight surface blooming on the cured film. The typical recommended dosage is 0.4 wt%‑1.5 wt% based on the total weight of complete coating formulation including base and hardener.
Pre‑production laboratory trials are mandatory. Testing items should cover pot‑life examination of mixed coating, curing speed, final film gloss, hardness, chemical resistance, surface resistivity and long‑term ageing stability.
Store in hermetically sealed containers inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Keep storage temperature moderate and avoid overheating. Prevent moisture contamination, because water ingress may trigger undesirable reactions when later used with isocyanate hardener. Reseal containers immediately after partial material discharge.
