High Haze Silicone Light Diffuser for Classroom Lighting
Product Overview
This high-haze silicone-based light diffuser is a spherical polysiloxane micro-powder specially developed for classroom eye-care lighting, meeting national education lighting standards. It solves common pain points of ordinary PMMA diffusers: fast yellowing, insufficient UGR performance, obvious book reflection. With 10-year non-yellowing performance and UGR<16 anti-glare effect, it reaches RG0 no blue light hazard level, suitable for long-time eye use scenarios such as classrooms, libraries and reading rooms.
Core Advantages
- Professional anti-glare UGR<16With compounded silicone microsphere particle size, light forms multi-layer diffuse reflection, unified glare rating (UGR) is below 16, far better than the national standard requirement of UGR<19. No reflection on book pages, no eye fatigue after long-time reading.
- Silicone material, 10 years no yellowingPolysiloxane structure brings excellent UV resistance and high temperature resistance, yellowing resistance is 3 times higher than PMMA diffusers. ΔE<2 after 10 years of use, meeting the 50,000-hour service life requirement of classroom lamps.
- High uniformity, no light spotsNarrow particle size distribution ensures whole lamp uniformity over 0.9, solving common problems of ordinary diffusers: bright edges, dark areas, yellow spots, ensuring uniform illumination on classroom desks.
- RG0 no blue light hazardThe material does not affect light spectrum, can match RG0 LED beads to pass no blue light hazard certification, suitable for adolescent eye protection scenarios.
- Balanced high haze & high transmittanceHaze reaches over 95% while light transmittance remains over 86%, 2% higher than ordinary silicone diffusers, ensuring whole lamp brightness meets standards while saving energy.
- Good processing, no crystal precipitationSurface modified silicone microspheres have good compatibility with PC/PS/PMMA lamp covers, no crystal precipitation, no crystal points, no flow marks during extrusion, improving mass production yield.
Typical Properties
The product appears as white spherical silicone micro-powder, compounded D50 particle size 2-4μm, refractive index 1.43, whiteness over 98, temperature resistance over 300℃, ΔE<2 after 1000h UV aging, haze>95%, transmittance>86%. It passes RoHS, REACH, RG0 no blue light tests, meeting GB7793 and GB7000 classroom lighting standards.
Recommended Applications
It is specially used for education lighting: classroom eye-care panel lights, classroom blackboard lights, library reading room lamps, school corridor lights, youth desk eye-protection lamps. It is not recommended for low-requirement scenarios such as ordinary advertising light boxes and strip lights due to higher cost.
Usage Guidelines
For PC/PS/PMMA lamp cover extrusion, recommended addition rate is 0.3%-0.8%: add 0.6%-0.8% for thin covers, add 0.3%-0.5% for thick covers. It can be directly mixed with raw materials for extrusion, or made into 10% concentration masterbatch for more uniform dispersion.
Processing temperature can be set according to conventional PC/PS/PMMA extrusion parameters, the material can withstand 300℃ high temperature without decomposition. We provide free samples, can recommend suitable addition rate according to customers' whole lamp UGR and uniformity requirements, and cooperate with customers to complete optical debugging.
Packaging & Support
The product is packed in 20kg vacuum aluminum foil bags (moisture-proof for silicone material), 1kg small package is available for sample testing. Seal and store in cool and dry place, shelf life is 2 years.
Special models for classroom lamps are in stock all year round, delivery within 2 working days. We provide TDS, COA and third-party test reports, and can cooperate with customers to complete bidding test for education lighting projects.
