High Transmittance PMMA Light Diffuser for PC Resin & Coating
Product Overview
This high transmittance PMMA light diffuser is a cross-linked polymethyl methacrylate spherical micro-powder, a cost-effective light diffusion additive for PC/PS high refractive index substrates and optical coatings. It forms a proper refractive index difference with PC/PS resin and coating binders, achieving good light diffusion effect at lower cost than silicone light diffusers, and is the first choice for cost reduction of mass-produced PC light diffusion parts and anti-glare coatings.
*Note: This product is not suitable for pure PMMA acrylic substrate, as the refractive index is close to PMMA and cannot produce effective light scattering.

Typical Performance
The product appears as white regular spherical powder, D50 particle size 3-5μm, refractive index 1.49, whiteness over 96, volatile matter below 0.5%, oil absorption value low, easy to disperse in resin and coating. All indicators meet industrial optical grade requirements, comply with RoHS and REACH environmental standards.

Usage Guidelines
For PC/PS resin modification, recommended addition rate is 0.3%-1.2%, adjusted according to wall thickness and required haze: 0.3%-0.7% for thick-walled high-transmittance products, 0.7%-1.2% for conventional products. It can be directly mixed with resin pellets for injection/extrusion, or pre-made into 5% concentration masterbatch for more uniform dispersion. Processing temperature follows conventional PC/PS processing parameters, no special adjustment required.
For coating application, recommended addition rate is 3%-8%, dispersed in coating at high speed, can be used after filtering, suitable for solvent-based, water-based, UV curing coating systems.
