Petroleum Microcrystalline Wax is refined petroleum microcrystalline wax developed as direct drop‑in replacement for HYWAX 682. It features fine microcrystalline structure, low oil content and outstanding heat‑resistance against sweating. In hot‑melt adhesive systems, it effectively modulates melt viscosity, optimizes open time and setting speed, and reinforces internal cohesion of adhesive compounds. It demonstrates excellent compatibility with hydrocarbon tackifying resins and polyolefins. Thi
Petroleum Microcrystalline Wax (CAS 63231‑60‑7, HYWAX 682 Equivalent) is fully refined petroleum‑derived microcrystalline wax manufactured via strict fractionation and purification processes. Its compact fine crystal structure minimizes oil‑sweating issues under elevated storage temperatures. When compounded into hot‑melt adhesive, the wax interacts with tackifier resins and base polymers. It reduces overall melt viscosity to facilitate pumping and extrusion during production, balances open time and rapid‑setting performance, and enhances cohesive strength and thermal stability of finished hot‑melt adhesives. It also serves as a key wax component for different packaging‑related industrial formulations. This grade provides a cost‑effective imported alternative to HYWAX 682 for hot‑melt adhesive and industrial wax formulators.
For hot‑melt packaging adhesive, typical dosage ranges 5‑16 % based on total formulation weight. Melt together with base polymer, tackifying resin and antioxidant under high‑temperature stirring. Sufficient thermal mixing is required to achieve a homogeneous molten blend. Pre‑production laboratory trials are strongly recommended to verify melt viscosity, setting speed and thermal stability of finished adhesive products.
Store sealed sacks in dry, well‑ventilated warehouse. Keep away from direct sunlight and high‑temperature heat sources. Avoid partial melting and material caking. Reseal sacks promptly after partial discharging.
This petroleum microcrystalline wax is for industrial manufacturing only, not for food or cosmetic applications. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during material handling. Please refer to the corresponding MSDS for complete safety operation instructions.
